Social engineering is to steal important personal information in computers such as password on the network by peeking owner of the network. It is also called “ social hacking”. However, it is not only on the network. For example, to steal a paper which owner wrote down ID or password and to look the display or keyboard when owner type ID or password are social engineering. Moreover, now, hackers try to steal credit card’s number! It is very dangerous because many users often pay money on the Internet such as Yahoo! Auction and TOFEL fee. One way when hackers steal credit card number is they pretend to be police officers that identify numbers, so owners tend to trust them. In short, there are a lot of and various social engineering all over the world; thus people have to always pay attention to usual one and new one. Hackers make new way one after another. People should be informed!
